“The garden pergola was everything we were looking for in a ceremony spot. From there the flow to cocktail hour and the reception was perfect. There are so many spots for pictures and the venue has so much character. The staff is extremely communicative and professional. Our day would not have been as perfect as it was without this venue.”

“Historic Jasmine is a dream venue!”

About Historic Jasmine

Historic Jasmine has been part of the New Kent landscape for centuries.

The property was originally patented in 1680, and the existing Manor House was built in 1750. During the Revolutionary War, the estate served as a headquarters for General George Washington's army before troops continued on to Yorktown.

Today, Historic Jasmine is a family-owned wedding venue created around the belief that celebrations should feel personal, meaningful, and deeply welcoming. Over the past 20+ years, the Smith family has thoughtfully cared for the estate while creating spaces where couples, families, and friends can come together and feel at home.

New Kent also has its own place in one of America's most famous love stories. Martha Custis Washington was born in New Kent County and later married George Washington here, adding another romantic chapter to the area's long history!

Frequently Asked Questions

“Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful it was! It ended up being the only venue we actually toured because we fell in love with it immediately.

A big priority for me was finding a place where we could bring in our own vendors and spend actual quality time with family. Staying on the property for the whole weekend made the whole experience so much less stressful and gave us time to soak everything in. The house is incredible, the gardens are beautiful, and the location is super private and quiet. We were so sad to leave at the end of the weekend, and I really don't have a single complaint about our experience!”

“Definitely the best decision we made for our wedding!”
